The Hygiene Kit Build returns to IMEX Frankfurt

CTW Events returned to IMEX Frankfurt 2026 to host its purpose-driven Hygiene Kit Build, bringing together participants from across the global events industry to create meaningful local impact in Frankfurt.

Following a strong response in 2025, participants came together again across the three-day show to assemble 600 hygiene kits, donated to Bahnhofsmission Frankfurt, a support organisation based at Frankfurt Central Station.

CTW Events returned to IMEX Frankfurt in 2026 to host the Hygiene Kit Build for a second year.

Each kit contained essential hygiene products, including bamboo toothbrushes, dental tablets, shower gel and shampoo, to support people facing homelessness, financial hardship, travel distress or crisis.

For many participants, it became more than a stop on the show floor. It was a moment of connection, reflection and contribution in the middle of a fast-paced global trade show.

Real local impact in Frankfurt

Bahnhofsmission Frankfurt is part of a Germany-wide network supporting people in need, offering immediate, practical help to vulnerable individuals, travellers in crisis, families and people experiencing homelessness.

All 600 kits assembled at IMEX Frankfurt 2026 were donated directly to the organisation, providing dignity, comfort and essential hygiene support to those who need it most.

The activation showed how large-scale events can create immediate, positive social impact in the cities that host them, simply by building an accessible giving-back moment into the attendee experience.

Giving back that makes people feel good

One of the most powerful aspects of the Hygiene Kit Build was how simple and accessible it was. Participants could drop in between meetings, conversations and education sessions and spend just a few minutes assembling a kit.

Despite that simplicity, the response was significant. Many participants shared how happy and fulfilled they felt, knowing they had contributed something tangible that would directly help another person.

The activation created a visible sense of positivity and connection across the show floor. People packed kits side by side, chatted with colleagues, met new contacts and shared conversations about giving back, sustainability and purpose.

Research backs this up. Stanford Graduate School of Business analysis of UK workplace survey data found that volunteering together builds social bonds between colleagues and deepens their connection to their work.[1]

Benevity's 2025 State of Corporate Purpose Report found that the top three drivers for companies investing in employee volunteering are:[2]

  • Boosting employee engagement
  • Increasing community impact
  • Fostering culture and connection

Purpose-driven experiences like the IMEX Hygiene Kit Build show that events can deliver a great attendee experience and meaningful social impact at the same time.

Supporting ESG, CSR and sustainable events

The Hygiene Kit Build aligned closely with IMEX Frankfurt's wider sustainability commitments.

As one of the leading events in the global meetings and events industry, IMEX continues to champion responsible event practices and long-term industry transformation, including its focus on net zero ambitions and positive social impact.[3]

By building giving back directly into the attendee experience, the activation showed how large conferences and exhibitions can go beyond networking and education to create real community impact.

With thousands of industry professionals attending IMEX Frankfurt each year, initiatives like the Hygiene Kit Build turn events into powerful platforms for giving back, while creating memorable and engaging experiences for attendees.

It also reflects a wider shift across the UK and European events industry, where organisers, brands and attendees increasingly expect events to deliver value not only for business, but for people and communities too.

CSR and ESG initiatives are no longer optional additions to an event programme. They are becoming a core part of how organisations build culture, engage employees, strengthen stakeholder relationships and create experiences that leave a lasting positive impact.

Why purpose-driven team building matters

Employees are increasingly clear about what they want from team building. CTW Events' 2025 workplace volunteering survey found that:[4]

  • 92% of employees are more likely to stay with a company that actively supports team volunteering
  • 92% believe purpose-led activities strengthen relationships more than traditional events
  • 85% say volunteering through work boosts their overall job satisfaction
  • 83% are more likely to take part in team building if it has a meaningful social or environmental impact

That is exactly what CTW Events experiences are designed to deliver. By combining team connection with direct community support, organisations can create experiences that leave a lasting impression on participants and make a real difference for the people who receive the kits.

Impact far beyond the show floor

IMEX Frankfurt 2026 once again proved that business events can be platforms for meaningful human impact.

Through one simple, accessible activation, participants assembled 600 hygiene kits that will directly support vulnerable people across Frankfurt through Bahnhofsmission Frankfurt.

Just as importantly, the experience reminded everyone that giving back, human connection and purpose still matter deeply within the events industry. As events continue to evolve across the UK and Europe, purpose-driven experiences like these are helping redefine what successful events can look like.

Together, one kit at a time, the industry continues to prove that events can create impact far beyond the show floor.
