The Challenge: Impact Inside a Packed Conference

Insurtech Insights Europe, held in London and known to many as Insurtech Insights London, is billed by its organiser as Europe’s largest insurtech conference. In 2026 it ran on 18 and 19 March at InterContinental London – The O2.1

Clearspeed attends industry events throughout the year. Through its Clearspeed Gives Back initiative, launched in 2023, the company works with event stakeholders and attendees to support the communities it visits, with the stated aim of leaving each place better than when it arrived.2,3 The aim in London was to give a busy conference audience a simple, hands-on way to support people in the host city, without pulling anyone away from the business of the event.

The Approach: A Drop-In Build Between Sessions

CTW Events ran the build as a Walkthrough: a drop-in kit-building station, staffed on site by Austin Eaton of CTW Events’ UK & Europe team, open from 10:00 to 14:00 on Wednesday 18 March and 9:00 to 14:00 on Thursday 19 March. Attendees could arrive between sessions, build a kit in a few minutes and return to their meetings. Clearspeed signage at the station explained the build and its purpose, and the kits were packed into Clearspeed-branded bags.

Hygiene kits fit the work of the receiving partner, Women 4 Women Empowerment (W4WE), which provides essential hygiene products, clothing and social support to women facing hardship.

How the Build Was Delivered

The two days on site were the visible part of a longer process. CTW Events handled each stage from booking to handover:

The Participant Experience

The build ran in a function room with floor-to-ceiling views across the river to Canary Wharf. Insurance, technology and investment professionals stood side by side at long tables, worked through each kit, with signage at the station showing where the kits were going: to women supported by Women 4 Women Empowerment, a charity based a few miles upriver. A few practical minutes in the middle of two days of panels and meetings.

The Results

Over 18 and 19 March 2026, attendees at Insurtech Insights London assembled 400 hygiene kits, counted at the event. Clearspeed donated all 400 kits to Women 4 Women Empowerment for the women it supports.

How we count: “assembled” means kits built and counted at the event (source: CTW Events event recap); “donated” means kits handed over by Clearspeed to, and received by, the named charity partner.

About the Partner: Women 4 Women Empowerment

Women 4 Women Empowerment is a women’s charity based in Southwark, south-east London.4 It supports women facing difficult circumstances through essential hygiene products, clothing and social support, community outreach, education and mentoring. Its stated belief is that every woman deserves dignity, and access to everyday essentials is part of how it helps women towards stability, housing and work.

Why hygiene essentials matter in the UK. An estimated 4.2 million adults in the UK experienced hygiene poverty, according to research by YouGov for The Hygiene Bank (May 2024).5 Charities like W4WE respond to that need in their own communities.

What Happened After the Last Kit Was Packed

When the build closed on 19 March, Clearspeed donated the 400 completed kits to Women 4 Women Empowerment. The kits are now with the charity, which provides essentials to the women it supports through its own services.

Aligned With Clearspeed’s Commitments

Clearspeed describes Clearspeed Gives Back as a way for its team, clients and the industries it serves to come together and support the communities where its events take place.2 The London build aligns with that commitment in three ways: it took place inside an event Clearspeed was already attending, it brought conference attendees into the activity alongside the Clearspeed team, and it supported a charity working in the host city. The build can contribute evidence to Clearspeed’s own reporting on the initiative; it is one part of a wider programme that Clearspeed runs across Europe and the United States.

The build also continues a partnership between CTW Events and Clearspeed that includes previous builds at Insurtech Insights.

Why This Matters for Conferences and Corporate Events

Sponsors and exhibitors at large conferences compete for a few minutes of attention between sessions. A drop-in build gives delegates a reason to stop, gives the sponsor something to talk about that is not a product pitch, and leaves a confirmed outcome in the host city once the stands come down. For organisers, it adds an activity that runs alongside the agenda rather than competing with it, as at IMEX Frankfurt 2026.

CTW Events works with organisations to:

  • build social impact into conferences, offsites and corporate events across the UK and Europe;
  • run hands-on kit builds with a named community partner and a counted result;
  • provide kit numbers, partner details and photography that can feed into CSR and ESG reporting;
  • support charities working in the communities where events take place.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a kit build fit into a busy conference programme?

With a Walkthrough format, the build station stays open across the event and attendees drop in between sessions. At Insurtech Insights London 2026, attendees built 400 hygiene kits over two days alongside the main programme.

Can a sponsor or exhibitor run a build at someone else’s conference?

Yes. Clearspeed hosted this build as an attending company at Insurtech Insights London 2026. Space and timings are agreed with the organiser and venue in advance.

Who receives the kits?

A charity or community partner agreed before the event, usually one working in the host city. For this build, Clearspeed donated the kits to Women 4 Women Empowerment, a London charity.

What do we receive after the event?

The number of kits assembled, the receiving partner and the handover details, plus event photography where consent is in place, so you can share the outcome internally and in your own reporting.

Is CTW Events a team-building activity?

People do connect while they build, but the purpose is different. CTW Events plans and delivers social impact kit-building activations with a named community partner and a counted result. The connection is a benefit; the outcome for the community is the point.
