Event recapAmsterdam, Netherlands · April 2, 2026

On Thursday, April 2, 2026, guests at the first Young Impact Summit at Het Sieraad in Amsterdam took part in a hands-on session and assembled 1,000 hygiene kits for children in Ukraine. The session was led by People for People Foundation, with CTW Events, as part of the summit’s Equal Opportunities workshop.

We’re sharing this recap because it’s a good example of what a short session of shared effort can add to an event. The credit belongs to the people in the room, who did the building and the writing, and to the partners who made sure the kits had somewhere useful to go.

What Is a Hygiene Kit Build?

A hygiene kit build is a facilitated session in which event participants assemble packs of everyday hygiene essentials, such as soap and toothpaste, which are then passed to a charity or community partner for people who need them.5

CTW Events plans and delivers social impact kit-building activations at corporate events, conferences and offices in 28 European countries, including the UK.

Ten Years of Young Impact

Young Impact is a Dutch foundation that inspires and activates young people to use their talents and passions to make a positive contribution to society.1 Its work centers on five themes: climate, equal opportunities, diversity, health and society.2 In ten years it has mobilized more than 500,000 young people across the Netherlands.1

Its method, the Circle of Impact, rests on three pillars: Inspire, Empower and Connect. More than 100 young trainers travel the country running workshops in schools, and its programs reach young people in every kind of setting, from mainstream schools to special education. Research by youth agency YoungWorks found that nine in ten participants want to do more for society afterwards.1

To mark its tenth anniversary, Young Impact held its first summit, free to attend and aimed at organizations and professionals who want to understand how to engage Gen Z and Gen Alpha. The program included presentations from YoungWorks and from Professor Loes Keijzer of Erasmus University, who researches young people’s mental health, the Young Impact Awards, and time for participants to take part in hands-on action, including for Ukraine with People for People.1

The Workshop

People for People was invited to lead the summit’s Equal Opportunities workshop and, with participating businesses, to assemble hygiene kits for children in Ukraine.3 Our team brought the kit materials and set up the room. The work itself was done by the participants.

They moved along tables of supplies, assembling one kit at a time, and wrote notes of encouragement to travel with the kits. By the end of the session, 1,000 hygiene kits had been assembled and boxed.

How the Session Came Together

  1. The need came first. People for People identified what was needed, hygiene kits for children in Ukraine, and how they would get there, through its partner LifeLine Ukraine.
  2. It fit the existing program. The build took place inside a workshop the summit had already planned.
  3. Materials and room. CTW Events supplied the kit materials and prepared the build room.
  4. The session. Participants assembled the kits and wrote notes, with our team and People for People on hand.
  5. Afterwards. The kits go to People for People for onward delivery.

Where the Kits Are Going

The kits were assembled for children in Ukraine and are intended for delivery through LifeLine Ukraine, a People for People partner since 2022 that runs a logistics network sending humanitarian aid directly to people in need in Ukraine.4 The two organizations continue to work together on deliveries into Ukraine, including a transport of school furniture in early 2026.3

These 1,000 kits are a small part of that wider work, and we’re glad to have contributed to it. We’ll update this post once People for People confirms the kits have been received.

Thank You

Thank you to Young Impact for welcoming us to its tenth anniversary, to People for People for leading the workshop and connecting the kits with LifeLine Ukraine, and to everyone who built a kit or wrote a note on the day.

What We Took Away

The most important part of a session like this happens before the day: a charity partner deciding what is genuinely needed and how it will reach people. Everything else, the materials, the room and the slot on the program, can fit around that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can CTW Events run a hygiene kit build at our conference or company event in Europe?

Yes. CTW Events plans and delivers kit-building sessions at corporate events, conferences and offices in 28 European countries, including the UK. Availability and the charity partner are confirmed city by city in each proposal.6

Where do the kits go after the event?

To a charity or community partner agreed before the event, based on what that partner has asked for and can receive. At the Young Impact Summit, the kits were assembled for children in Ukraine, for delivery through People for People and LifeLine Ukraine.

Is a kit build a team-building activity?

No. It is a hands-on social impact session with a counted output that goes to a named charity partner. Colleagues do connect while they build, but the purpose is the result: kits that a partner has asked for, delivered through a confirmed route.

How are the results reported?

In four separate stages: kits booked, kits assembled at the event, kits received by the partner and kits distributed by the partner. Distribution is only reported once the partner confirms it.

How long does a session take, and how many people can take part?

Both are agreed per proposal to fit your agenda and space. For scale, trade media guests at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in London assembled 200 hygiene kits in 45 minutes.
